Three of our members, Dr. Dragana Miladinović, Dr. Aleksandra Radanović and Dr. Sandra Cvejić, participated in the 9th Sunflower Biotechnology Conference, SUNBIO 2025, in Antalya, Turkey (19-21.11.2025). Eighty researchers from about 11 countries attended the conference.
Presentations and posters on the latest sunflower research were held during the conference.
Our team presented several posters: Dragana Miladinović – ‘Paving the path to sunflower drought resilience: Marker Assisted Backcrossing using KASP technology‘ and Sandra Cvejić – ‘Advancing Sunflower Resilience to Climate Change Through Innovative Breeding Strategies‘. Aleksandra Radanović gave two presentations, one related to the investigation of sunflower drought tolerance at the transcriptome level: ‘Deciphering drought response strategies in sunflower‘, and the other related to sunflower resistance to broomrape: ‘From Silence to Signal: Rebuilding the Genomic Toolbox for Sunflower Resistance to Broomrape‘.
Our team’s presentations were very well received and attracted significant attention from the conference participants.
