Another short-term scientific mission at the Research Centre Jülich

Once again, a member of the Centre, Dr. Boško Dedić, visited the Research Centre Jülich, Institute of Bio- and Geosciences (IBG-2): Plant Science (Forschungszentrum Jülich), as part of the Horizon Europe project CROPINNO (101059546) to participate in a short-term scientific mission.

During his stay (from January 19 to March 1), Dr. Dedić focused on the analysis of data from phenotypic characterization of roots of inbred sunflower lines, collected by conducting two experiments during the previous two stays. Additionally, Dr. Dedić performed the phenotypic characterization of seedlings of selected inbred sunflower lines exposed to drought stress.

Since the Research Centre Jülich uses state-of-the-art phenotyping methods, Dr. Dedić had the opportunity to contribute significantly to the understanding of sunflower genetics and their adaptability to environmental stressors, paving the way for improved agricultural practices in the future.

The findings from these experiments are expected to enhance the phenotyping processes at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops and within the Climate Crops Centre.
